Missing Link is a 2019 American stop-motion animated comedy adventure film directed by Chris Butler and produced by Laika that was released on April 12, 2019. It will feature the voices of Hugh Jackman, Zoe Saldana, Zach Galifianakis, Stephen Fry, Emma Thompson, Timothy Olyphant, Matt Lucas, David Walliams, Ching Valdez-Aran, and Amrita Acharia.

Premise[]
Missing Link follows "myths and monsters investigator, Sir Lionel Frost, who sets off on an adventure to the Pacific Northwest to prove the existence of a legendary creature—Mr. Link. Frost, who's also looking to gain acceptance by his small-minded explorer peers, is accompanied on his journey by Adelina Fortnight, a free-spirited, independent adventurer who just so happens to possess the only known map to their secret destination of trying to find Link."[2]

On April 25, 2018, it was announced that Laika had begun development on Film Five, a new animated film directed by Chris Butler. The film will be produced in association with Annapurna Pictures who also handle domestic distribution.[3][4] On May 7, 2018, it was announced that the film had been titled Missing Link and would be released in the United States in the spring of 2019.[5][6]
Casting[]
Alongside the film's initial announcement, it was confirmed that Hugh Jackman, Zoe Saldana, and Zach Galifianakis would voice characters in the film.[3] Concurrently with the reveal of the film's title, it was announced that Stephen Fry, Emma Thompson, Timothy Olyphant, Matt Lucas, David Walliams, Ching Valdez-Aran, and Amrita Acharia had joined the film's voice cast.[6]

aika's artists constructed over 110 sets with 65 unique locations for the film.[7]
Release[]
Missing Link was released in the United States on April 12, 2019 by Annapurna Pictures. It was originally scheduled for April 19, but it was moved up a week after The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle release date was moved to 2020.[8] Lionsgate UK is set to handle distribution of the film in the United Kingdom and Ireland.[9]
